I need to finish a project first before starting another ... this is what I say to mee when I have a new very cool idea and I have an unfinished project.
So for now ... nothing.
But ... to much idea :ding!:

I need to found a great IPS 3.5 - 4 inch screen (if you have some link send it to mee I struggle to found one ! )

I feel like IPS can get really expensive.. curious if there is a "known" one that works great for portables. Not so expensive..
I remember asking a while back on discord this was an LCD I got linked to 3.5" VGA, 640*480


I went 4.3" widescreen ips 800*480 on my Wii portable from buydisplay.com but that may not be what you're aiming for

I went 4.3" widescreen ips 800*480 on my Wii portable from buydisplay.com but that may not be what you're aiming for
I have one of those 480p 3.5" screens. They're expensive, but top tier quality.

First idea ... I'm not happy with that :

So, I think to do custom PCBs for everything !
Add U-Amp on the LRUD PCB, with very little tact switch on the side.
I will make the PCBs fit the design of my case, and not the other way around :)

Smaller Heat Sink and Blower fan 30x30, in comparison of 35x35 :

I found nice li-po battery, I am going to use two of them (2x 4000mAh), with 8000mAh I think its good !
And with that I can make my portable 4mm thinner :

Now I have to make the main PCB !
I am thinking of including :
- PMS (an adaptation of the Gman Wii PMS)
- µSD to USB with the GL823K.
I don't know if it is compatible with the wii, but it look better than GL827L.
The 823 doesn't need an external oscillator, and supports SDHX up to 2TB.
- USB-C data transfer (I'm not sure with that, Maybe I might need some help with this part).
- USB-C Power Delivery

Today I made some advancement !
I finished merging LRUD pcb with U-Amp, I have aded pad to power the L speaker (no solder), and pad for the headphones jack.

Today, I'm going to explain you what I want to do for the power board and USB data transfert.
The features I want :
- 1V/1.15V/1.8V/3.3V/5V regulators
- µSD to USB conversion on the board
- USB-C Power Delivery
- USB-C data transfers
- batteries temperature sensor

The goal will be to get all of this in a very small space !

The PMS will be based on Gman's RVL-PMS, it works well and also allows communication with the STUSB4500 for power delivery in USB-C.
For me, it's a very great solution because I don't want to code all from scratch, and I don't understand much about PIC.
I just know Arduino, and ESP32, and I learned the basics of C, C ++ in class ... but I suck at programming.

To save as much space as possible on the pcb I will first use regulator "all in one" : TPS8208x

Now to transform the signal from a µSD card to USB I will use this circuit : GL823K, it has an integrated quartz so no need to add an external one.

And finally, for the USB power delivery and data transfer part, the Gman website was a great help in understanding how all of this works.

But the concern is that I don't want to add an additional 5V regulator, a 3.3V LDO and a power multiplexer.
I saw that on the new version of the PMS PD, there was not all that.

So I think the 5V regulator is controlled independently of the others regulators, and turns on when a voltage is detected on the USB-C.

And you no longer need to use a 3.3V LDO if you power the USB multiplexer from the batteries and use its ultra low consumption function when not in use.

For the moment I have almost finished completing the diagram, but I'm stuck on one thing :
how to activate 5V regulator with two activation sources ?

I thought to take the voltage which activates Q1 to activate a transistor which would make pass a tension in D1.
But the voltage varies according to the input voltage (5V/9V/12V ...) so it won't work.

And I'm not sure whether to use two diodes to have two sources of activation is a great idea :/

Wow, I have a lot of advancement since my last post :D
I have almost 99% finish my customs PCBs, thanks to the help of people who answered the question I had, and lots of hours of YouTube video and datasheet reading.

I just realized that my PCB for the right NDS PAD did not please me at all, so I will completely redo it :

Button board looks great! Just curious, why so many vias?
For the ground plan, I saw that it was recommended to put some around the board to have a faraday cage effect.
And I saw some PCBs that did that too.
