I'm at my wit's end trying to get online using a patched Mario Kart Wii ISO on my Wii without a disc drive using RVLoader. I have tried patching different ISOs and patcher versions, and I still get the error #23904: You have to update your game with the new patcher.

I don't know if it's relevant that I'm using RVLoader and booting the game from that. Since my disc drive connecter is broken, I'm unable to use any USB Loader app (I've tried GX, Cfg and Wiiflow) and do the on-the-fly Wiimmfi patch through those apps. I've tried using ' patch-images-32', and running the patch as Administrator, but nothing works. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Unfortunately Wifi does not work with RVLoader at the moment. I’ve managed to play MKWii online with usb loader GX.

Really? That's strange since Wi-Fi can be enabled in the config menu for games. Well thanks for letting me know. I'm assuming you don't have a disc drive - How did you get USB Loader GX to load the game?

Through USB, but USB Loader GX requires specific folder and file naming for it to recognize the iso. I also per-patched the game with the Wiimmfi patch.

Yeah, im able to get USB Loader GX to recognize the ISO and boot the game, but it freezes after boot because I don't have a disc drive board connected. If there's a way to make it actually boot games, then I could run the Wiimmfi patcher built in to USB Loader GX and it probably work.

For it to work you should do the following:
  1. Boot the Wii using RVLoader
  2. Using the C-Stick navigate towards the Homebrew menu
  3. Launch USB Loader GX from this menu
  4. You should be able to play MKWii normally this way

Tried it, the game won't load past pressing Start on the boot screen :/ Thanks for your help anyway

Just making sure, you didn't have an SD card in the Wii's front slot while attempting to install RVLoader right? If there's an SD card in the front slot, HBC won't check USB devices for apps
Nope no sd card in the front just the sandisk usb drive one time with no sd card in the front and then the usb to micro sd adapter with no sd card in the front. Also formatted both before use

Did you use guiformat from ridgecrop to do it? If not, download it and try formatting FAT32 with 32k clusters using guiformat

That’s exactly how I formatted it, I guess if anyone has suggestions on what there running other that the kingston USB adapter or Samsung white usb?
The black/dark grey Samsung Fit 3.1 should be compatible with RVLoader now. Aurelio improved compatibility a couple of updates ago and that one was on the list

Odd question about using this on non-portables. Would using the VGA patch without the sync soldering essentially enable RGB with sync on composite on NTSC consoles without changing regions? Assuming you have the option to not force 480p. Might be getting an RGB modded CRT in our melee setup collection at some point, so was curious.

No. Without H/V sync, no video display is possible. Also the Wii's AVE doesn't output multiple video types simultaneously. It's VGA or composite depending on the mode pin state, you can't have both at the same time.

Hello, is it normal that when installing RVLoader it changes ios 80 58 36 to version 65535? I have formatted my wii to remove RVLoader and manually patched the ios to the versions that RVLoader needs but when I install it again it changes them to those versions, as my HBC is running on ios 58 this puts HBC upside down.

This is normal. HBC is designed to flip upside down when certain IOS modules are patched to dissuade people from using outdated methods.

If you want full portablising functionality, this can't be avoided.

Ok, is safe to use this modified ios 58 for other programs or is necessary go to 61?

Pretty much all homebrew will work fine. We've been using these patches since PortablizeMii (many years) and aside from a few specific fringe cases, afaik there's no functional reason to switch. Unless you really can't stand the HBC being upside down.

What game?
Good evening, I would like to know if someone could show me how or with what program I could contribute to the edition of RVLoader now that it is already open source... Thank you very much for this wonderful program for our wii.

Hah, I was looking on software to help with a future project of mine and searched for "portablizemii". Then found out it was depreciated. So then I found out about BBloader, and was about to learn about it and then saw that this is out now.

Don't know if anyone cares, but I just thought it was a weird coincidence. Super pumped to try this out though!
Same here
