Question Recommended beginner projects or other things that get someone familiar with a soldering iron?

Very new here and after watching a couple of videos on modding I decided to check it out. I have essentially zero experience with a soldering iron and the only one I really have access to is a generic cheap one at my school, thus here I am pondering about any inexpensive potential beginner projects or other things that get me familiar and somewhat more knowledgeable about soldering.

it really depends on what you want to do, but a soldering kit like this one could be a good place to start. the problem with a cheap soldering iron like the one you mentioned is that it might develop bad soldering habits like cold joints, large blobs, and other things you generally want to avoid. if possible investing in a good, temperature controlled soldering iron is a good idea. this one with a hot air station was posted here a few days ago. also play a real shen megoomi tensay gaem
