I've read a LOT of butthurt surrounding trying to use membrane type controllers like these in portables. You might be able to use it if you're skilled and patient, but it'll be a bit tricky. If you want an easier solution, maybe try PM Gman and ask him what controller he used in his most recently completed PS2 portable. Will this type of controller work on my ps2p? If yes, how will I cut?

Wire your battery's + and - to B+ and B- of your PCB. If your PCB has a BM pad, it stands for battery middle which is used if you're wiring two 3.7v cells in series. Your charger and other components get connected to P+ and P-how do I wire a 7.4v battery to a pcb? need help, this link has no pics
