IDK about you, but my workshop definitely says "contest"...

I did several revisions on the original PS2 buttons & dpad until they worked perfectly. Also i did some finishing/finalizations on the case.

The components for the PCBs arrived, too. But i had to do a second revision of the button PCB, since i couldn't source the PIC for the PS2+ in the form factor i used. Anyways, that's ordered, too & should arrive soon.

Today i also picked up the IP2721, which currently only outputs 5V.. but hey, at least it didn't blow!

Once the new button pcb arrives, we can finally start the assembly..

Just Beautiful @Nold, I always learn so much from your design and process. Those custom boards are crisp! Everything is cuddling up nice and close. Clean and tight. Love it.

Thanks for sharing man. Inspiring. Cheers.

Thanks for your kind words! really appreciate it :)

I did some tesing with different shoulderbuttons and the winner seems to be the classic squishy-tacy!

also if you do not modify your own custom pcbs, you're not a real modder B|

Today i did some more work on the bottom half of the case. Starting by gluing together the heatsinks, fan & copper plate.

And I did some test fitting. Even tho i have not much space left in the case, i also needed to fit a ps2hdmi into it. Cause my dispay driver doesn't support Component or interlaced VGA input. I think i'll also connect composite for the games that don't support 480p output. [which are sadly quite a lot].

Sadly i can't remember how i planed on fitting the ps2hdmi adapter :rothink: but i'll figure something out

Since I didn't include any additional buttons for the display controls in the case, i'm planing on modifying the ps2plus firmware, to trigger the display control on a specific key-combination.

aaanyways i think i can make everything fit. Even tho i'm not sure if i'll put the PMS over or under the ps2 mainboard...

Very nice! Loving the hand wired HDMI. Another (more expensive) solution would have been using two 19-pin FFC connectors and a ribbon cable. That's what I did for my Gboy, I used double sided tape to sit it on top of the Wii mobo. You've got plenty of space where you've put it, it should close well.

Looking forward to your next updates!

I'm so ready to finish this up!!1.. still waiting for the controller pcbs, tho. Hope they arrive tomorrow so i can do some testing.

Meanwhile I printed the final case using the last rest of my classic contest carbonfil & spend some hours sending everything nice & smooth. Sorry for the messy wiring.

After some debugging i was also able to get the ps2+ controller and mx4sio working. Now i basically only need to get audio working.

Until then, here is a spagetti nude:

Since we all love nudes, here are some final ones:

Just some minor issues to fix & a video to make. But I'm closing the worklog for now.

During this project I also merged the U-Amp code i got from @StonedEdge into the original firmware, allowing using a pot for volume control. I also want to add that as a jumper to the PCB, but that's not done, yet.

Here you can find my fork: https://github.com/Nold360/U-AMP

That’s epic dude!… Wait a second… Is that a dmg link cable port? WTF? I love it even though I have no idea what it’s used for. Well done my friend
