Boots on the 3x3 just fine. Due to how it's wired, the flex cable connects on the top rather the bottom of the 64drive. A longer cable could probalby be used for moving it around.

Goddamn. So this is an n64, a 64drive, and an UltraVGA, with a connector at the top right for real cartridges?
Are all the components on one side of the board? Could it be even smaller if they were on both sides?

I mean maybe but as you place more components on the back it becomes increasingly difficult to run power and ground with 4 layers because many fabs don't support buried vias. Most likely not worth the cost that you'd have to pay.

Also the N64 gets pretty warm so it might not be the best idea to have a bunch of components mounted on the back.
