Hello, first of all, I would like to introduce myself. I am from the interior of Maracaju, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. I would like to introduce you to this model of Playstation 2 Portable that I am finishing developing. It is not finished yet because the potentiometer to regulate the speaker volume and the BMS 2S protection board are still missing.
Well, let's go, I'm doing this post just for information purposes, I'll start by explaining the difficulties I had in developing this project. At first it was just an idea and I was anxious, as I don't have a 3D printer I had to look for alternative methods to be able to continue with this idea, the method I found was to use PVC pipe, I heated it and molded it into the desired model and so I made my first housing of this project, I made the housing using measurements from a screen that said it was 7 inches that I found on the internet, and to my surprise when the screen I had bought arrived it didn't fit inside the housing... .
I thought about giving up on the idea because I had already made a portable PS2 previously using a PS4 controller, but giving up was not an option. This project had already taken time and money, and I had already cut the PS2 board ,
So I started the case from scratch again, but this time I used the front part of the screen that I bought, as you can see in the photos. After 2 long months I was able to finish the case. After that I moved on to the internal components, such as the controllers, audio board, relocation of the USB input, and other components. Another obstacle was the analogs, as the board that comes with the controller is impossible to use because it is very thin and breaks easily. So I used phenolic pads and made the analog connections using the wires from the controller itself. The first project was very disorganized, but in this one I tried to keep the wires as organized as possible. possible, comparing it to the other one this one is much better, I know it's not perfect as if it were a 3D printed casing but I loved the result.
and finally I haven't finished it yet but I intend to finish it soon, and I apologize in advance if some words in this poster are incorrect, because I speak Portuguese and I have to write the entire text later using the translator to post it here , I hope you liked it and that I inspired someone to make their own PS2P, and that the reason for not having a 3D printer was not an impediment.
I also posted videos of this portable and the first one I made on the YouTube platform if you want more information about it I can post the link to my channel here. hugs
