I powered on my N64, the light turned on, and i heard a pop sound. Is that good?!

That is not good... if the light doesn't turn on you can try checking the power supply with a multimeter and see if it outputs the power that is listed in the little embossed graphic on the power supply. The power supply can blow a fuse and your n64 will not relieve power anymore, and this is the simplest thing to check before opening the entire console up for repair.

If the light turns on...what can i do?
Try reseating the jumperpak/expansion pak and see if that helps. I didn't read your first post right and thought you said it popped and shut off. Also try repeating the video/audio cable.

Did the pop come from the N64 itself, or did the pop come from a TV you had it hooked up to?

It came from the N64 because i did not plug a TV into the N64...

Then yes, that's quite bad. Something on the N64 burst/fried
