Worklog Noah's GameBoy "Flash carts"

Can anyone more experienced than me tell me what the big holes up next to the power-down chip (marked 6735) are for? Notice the one on the right of that chip. There are 2 vias that connects to the chip and also to the weird hole. The traces seem to just dead-end when they reach these holes. Any idea if they do actually dead-end, and why they would do that?

@Noah Is there an estimate for the Gameboy Flashcarts? I missed out on the previous batch. I am planning to make my own flasher with school, just for fun. And then when your new revision arrives I'll buy your flasher.
But to test the flasher it would be nice to have a flashcard to try it with instead of some cheap bootleg who may or may not work.
