I will be entering an Atari Lynx II for my contest project. I've been wanting to build a Wii into one of these for a LONG time.

Goals so far:
Gamecube buttons and joysticks
Keep the center piece for aesthetic purposes, GC-Lynx style
5" LCD (probably component)
Lots of battery life
No last minute finishing!!!

Nice, I expect you to outdo the Liinx in style. (Not that it'll be hard to beat my monstrosity)

I am committed to actually having a complete worklog this time, so I'll be posting a ton of pictures. I want it to have as many original gamecube buttons as possible, so I trimmed down the shoulder buttons to fit while taking up less room. I also filled in the original holes and epoxied in the left joystick and ABXY

Super cool! I love the Lynx 2, it's big for what it is, but I always thought it would make a neat shell for a portable console.

Today I added the C-stick, dpad, and Z button, while doing a bit more planning of the overall console.

I'm going to try and go for the Eyoyo 5" component screen, which I think I can just barely fit into the case. I'll probably use the on board audio management for convenience, which means that I'm going to have tact switches for volume control. That presented a slight problem, since the Lynx already has a nicely labeled place for a volume pot on it. I made a prototype digital "volume wheel" using a pot and two tact switches to solve the problem. If something like this already exists, please tell me what it's called so I don't have to use a homemade one lol.

I also realized that the battery door of the Lynx could come off to reveal 4 Gamecube controller ports, so that's going to happen lol.

I'd like to have video out, but so far am undecided where to put it. Ideally I'd like to keep the Wii av port because of the cable switching from composite to component. More to come soon :)

I've definitely seen/had a switch that was integrated like that in the past, but have since lost the link. I think it was a 3 or 5 position spring/momentary switch. The last place I saw it referenced was on the sudomod forums if that helps.

Incredible. I would never have thought of that volume control, and now I'm probably going to steal it lol.
