This is now a completed job but i wanted youl to know my pain and suffering so there it is: about 3 months ago , as quarantine was imposed and my job was put in hold i came up with an ideea to make some quick money so i started to work on the mii-6 (pun intended :D ) Oh how young and foolish i was back then...
I wanted the portable to be as compact as possible and retain the Wii essence : should have removable joysticks - wiimote for wii games , GC controller for gc games , (somewhat) swappable battery , sensor bar (integrated) and good cooling.
Inspired from the overwhelming quantity and quality of information in this forum i started to make the board cut , no thrills there:

Then , i trimmed the radiator for a slimmer profile:

After that , completed the board that hosts the regulators , sound amp etc :

Mounted the components including wifi , usb :

And came out pretty slim, as expected:

To my surprise, it seems that this little bugger works:

Prety simple and straightforward, isn't it? :D Well, 'till now ,yes. But the nightmare was about to begin....

This will have 3 parts: 1 is now completed, part two will cover the power management system + battery and 3 - joysticks. I structured my workflow like this because back then, honestly i had no ideea how all this should came together , i had no ideea how a power management system intimately worked , just had my (poor) programming skills ,basic understanding of electronics(still not improved much here :D) and a burning desire of getting things done driven by actual cold hunger (for food ,not higher meaning etc) For f's sake, i didn't know how a FET worked , i had to learn this the paesant's way , googling "acts like an electronic switch" so this will make a better picture of how clueless i was

So, i designed the case (forgot - the case should by the same lenght as a wiimote- this was a challenge in itself , ended up missing one mm , i had to redesign it many times for that stuff to fit) -in the end turned up ok...ish

Here it is with a wiimote next to it ,now you know where i'm going with the concept:

Then, with the case ready, i started working on the battery. All i knew was i had to fit all these in the case\s dimensions:

Researched the Fet's, sourced one, basically now all i had was to program a Arduino to output 5v to controll the supply via the FET
Along the way,the program was getting bigger and bigger , now the battery could show the voltage, display a graphic bar , show the remaining play time, percentage, elapsed time and also got service functions like setting up the capacity(for correct calculations, should the battery cells should be replaced with different capacity ones), voltage cut-off for safety or improved game-time and sound on -off.All this was shown on a OLED display and controlled by a simple switch ,including Power On/Off. Satisfied and surprised a little too, i pet myself on the back, offered the same person a 6 pack an drank myselt into oblivion that same night. I was now at aprox 500 lines of code, this was shaping into a real operating system so i called it unapologetically A.N.O.S. (Absolutelly No Operating System)
As my A.N.O.S. was getting bigger :D , also got his own voice thanks to a speaker i added for presses confirmation and also low-battery alarm

As it is now, it only alarms you on the remaining time page , at 10min left of power but maybe i'll change that , to warn on all modes, will see.
Well, good luck to me fitting all + 2 lipo cells on a 6mms thick enclosure!

Oh, thank you so much sir , it did! :

And that was the last sane thought i had, after that it all gone haywire.... stay tuned ;)

did you make that board that hosts the regulators completely by yourself? :O
