It's finished.
I got my Pro Controller today. Here's some pics of the whole thing
:

*BIG INHALE*
*ᵉˣʰᵃᶫᵉ*

Hey everyone. This is my first portable ever. I'm really excited for this, and am willing to put in tons of time into this project. You guys are some of the most helpful people, giving me tons of opinions, advice, and overall you guys have helped me very, very well!

So now then, with that out of the way, here's my plan:
- Gamecube Controller (DS Buttons instead of Gamecube buttons for the controller).
- Gamecube Analog sticks. (was going to go with 3ds sliders but I changed my mind :P)
- 12V DC 6000mAh Li-Ion Battery Pack
EDIT:
I've changed my mind on the battery due to a small problem I realized...the screen I have runs off of 12v, and from what I've been told the Wii will run on 10v minimum, The battery I was going to use had 12v max output, so I changed my mind to individual 3.7v batteries.
EDITEDIT:
The batteries I chose were cheap.
Gman is awesome and reccomended these, so I'll go with them:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/121611468285?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
-TP4056 (Newer Version) For Charging Batteries:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/222290378217?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
- 3.5 inch screen
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0045IIZKU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
- Blue LED Battery Indicator (and Zener Diode)
- ABS Plastic for the case
- No Disc Drive, everything runs and saves off a USB.
- PortablizeMii (Of Course :D)

Here's my Diagram for the battery power, and battery charging. Still not 100% sure how I plan on soldering 4 wires to 1 (to power the Wii and LCD) But I think this will work. If it doesn't look right to you, please correct me!
Edit: cheese made this so much simpler for me. Thanks cheese!
Note: The wires connected to the wii motherboard are reversed. GND should go to the right pin, and + should go to the left pin.

And yeah! That's my whole plan. I'm aware that this isn't going to be finished in like a week. This is going to be a tough project, especially for someone who has near to no electronic experience. But I am really excited, and it makes me feel better to see that there are a lot of people who can help me. :)

Edit (2/7/2017):
Today I did my first succesful soldering job!

Edit (2/8/2017):
Today I soldered the Power and Composite directly to the LCD, so I don't have to use those big fat wires.
But, one of the wires moved, and I saw a shock, and the Wii shut off, and wouldn't turn on...However, I did a little research and found out that unplugging the Wii's power for 2 minutes or so could save it, so I tried it, and it seems to be working for now. I'm still a bit "iffy" though and not sure if this is a good thing. I did have the heat sink off, and that's my guess what the problem was.

No longer need the RCA Connector for the wii!

Some notes on batteries and TP4056 chargers:

I definitely should have done more research on these, that was a big mistake on my end.
I actually ended up ditching a built in charger, and I just bought a wall charger:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/112103853541?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2648&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
I bought a x4 18650 pack, and they should make a Wii run for about 2 hours.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/121611468285?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
I simply used a battery holder that goes on the back, and then outputs 14.8v with all four cells.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/112173281090?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

I just hooked up the batteries to the main pins of the power input on the Wii, and it worked out really well.

DEFINITELY Don't use the TP4056 chargers if you plan on charging all four at once.

Madmora...? I have a link for the battery I'm getting under the name.

I'm going with a headphone jack. This will be what I most likely use:

Here's an update.
The case I'm going for will look something like this (eye made accurate):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/yszm04g5ynljepn/0001-0360.avi?dl=0
I'm not going to trim the board, it seems small enough for what I want. You might also notice that I've used the gamecube analogs instead of the 3ds sliders. Yep changed my mind lol.

if you not going to trim the motherboard, the unit will be big. also you don't need portablizemii.

It's my first, so if it ends up being a big hunk of junk, it won't bother me. I just want to make one lol.

While trimming isn't super hard, I would suggest you try it yourself before suggesting other inexperienced modders do it too. Since this is his first project, and he clearly doesn't seem comfortable with trimming the board, not trimming is the best route of action for him. Also, as a moderation note, please stop double posting. There is an edit button for a reason.

Can't wait to see more progress!

To be honest, anyone who doesn't use PortablizeMii shouldn't be making Wii portables. You're denying yourself and potential buyer a level of convince and security by not installing it. For example, if you performed the OMGWTF without PM, if one of your Bluetooth wires breaks loose then the entire console won't boot.

The mod pack is designed around the convince of a portable system and not using it in one is completely asinine. There is absolutely no reason not to and anyone who tells you otherwise or does otherwise is wrong.

Nevertheless, good luck on the project Mumble! I look forward to watching it progress.

What makes you say that? Did you do any research before posting? Put thought into what you say before you post, and if you don't know for sure, don't post, since you will most definitely throw off other people.
I personally agree with Fiskers on this one.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JLMX9M...TF8&colid=2D2KZF9PKO0Z7&coliid=I129BT7QG5AUSE

Look like typical chinese rip off LI-ION cells. The side actually reads "Sheef-life around 10 years". It also says that there is short circuit and over current protection.

If you skim through amazon for similar cells. You find: https://www.amazon.com/SmartLive-50...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=ES4RY95PZKFM3HRYDRZV

Some of the reviews where the batteries are hooked up and tested show that they are around 600-900 mah.

Ultrafire makes the BRC batteries. They typically get bad reviews and there were rumors that they would actually recycle old laptop batteries and relabel them.

Edit: Sanyo and Panasonic both make really nice 18650 cells as long as you do not buy chinese knock offs. You should be skeptical of any 18650 battery you see that is rated above 3600 mah or so.

This link: https://batterybro.com/blogs/18650-...sonic-a-panasonic-b-sanyo-and-ultrafire-cells shows how bad ultrafire batteries are (different model #, but still).

?_? How does re-labeled batteries have anything to do with being able to charge through micro USB?

Misread the sentence... My bad...

The batteries charge with 4.2V @ 600 mAmp. The charger works with 5V microusb input and outputs 4.2V @ 1 amp. Should work fine then.

Hold on, should I ignore all this? Or should I find a different charger? (I'd personally like a USB type C port, because the charging wires are really common to find and it's not a big deal if one shorts out)

The post is still valid. The charger will work fine. The batteries are garbage.

Based on the information online the batteries you linked should be able to power the wii + screen for around 30-45 minutes on full charge.

Ouch. Yeah that's not too good...I'll research a bit more and see if I can find anything better :D
