Unfortunately, these are the only ones I have that are still in their cases - these are all NTSC:J systems, although some of them are Asian regional variants.

White USA region RVL-CPU-40

Random question (sorry for posting it here since I am new to this forum, @Shank may know this one):

Do any black RVL-CPU-40 Wiis have the older AVE chips (i.e. not the newer BU99 version), assuming anyone has taken one apart? I know the white RVL-40 Wiis had a variation of AVE chips used and that the red RVL-40 Wiis are all most likely BU99 because of how late they were produced (at that point they were transitioning to the RVL-60 revision). It was discovered that there was a software bug on the older Wiis (the RVL-CPU-01, RVL-CPU-20, RVL-CPU-30, and some RVL-CPU-40 Wiis) that caused the component output to not look as good as it could have been.

Nintendo apparently fixed the bug in hardware on all Wiis produced in mid/late 2010 and later. I'm presuming that the BU99 based RVL-40 Wiis had the fix implemented by Nintendo.

Note: this one is an oddball, so I inspected the screws, feet, stickers and such under a microscope. There are clear signs it has been opened before. It looks like it was competently done, overall. I believe it was likely broken back in the days when a Wii was worth repairing, and someone swapped the motherboard. I'm including it here but it likely should be excluded from the table.

I went through the data (only what was in the sheet on the first post) and noticed some other trends:

lu2, lu7, lu8, lu9, and lu15 are most likely 4 layers
lu5 and lu10 are most likely 6 layers
lu3 and lu6 are most likely 6 layers, but possibly 4
lu11 and lu12 are most likely 4 layers, but can be 6
lu13, lu14, and lu16-lu19 have no data
lu4 only has one entry on the sheet, which is a 4 layer

if you want to check out my data analysis here's a google doc

The serial numbers you posted are missing the last digit (the one inside the box is part of the serial number). Everyone else, I have gone through and added the remaining serial numbers, it should be up to date now.

In other news, now you can submit your serial numbers through a google form! If you have a large number of serial numbers, DM me and I will add them so you don't have to go through the form for every single board.
