I've been playing with the idea of making my own Wii portable and am looking for some information on how hot the trimmed Wii runs on its own.

I know that the Gamecube boards used to run really hot but considering the technology change and board sizes after trim I'm curious how drastic the difference it.

I'm looking to push the limit of case materials and space constraints and need a decent understanding of how hot it will run.

Could anyone provide me with some information on how hot their Wii portables get?

The Wii doesn't need as much cooling as the GameCube did thankfully. In this portable, I used a stock wii heatsink and fan. Heatsink is trimmed down to about 1cm and the fan is trimmed to blow air out the side of it. As you can see, it stays pretty cool. The largest heat area is actually coming from the regulators, not the wii
