I just wanted to show some pictures of my TinyTendo that I have built over the last couple of months.

The hardest part of the TinyTendo is of course cutting and sanding the CPU/PPU to a size of 10x10mm.
Here are some pictures of the CPU and PPU before and after I sanded them down:

After some trail and error I finally got it to work:

Here is what it looks like from inside:

And this is the final product:

I also made my own Tetris cartridge. For this i had to sand down the MMC1 chip as well:

A big thanks goes out to @Redherring32 for this amazing project. It was definitly the hardest project I have worked on so far.

Congrats!! I never thought I would see a TinyTendo built working and not being made by Red. Great job!

For the chip trimming did it work first try? Do you have any advice to make it work?

What battery clips did you use? I had issues with the conjoined clips from the BOM and it looks like you have some different ones.

Also, do you have any spare TNY-SEROM boards you'd be willing to sell or trade for? Tetris is the one game I desperately want on my TinyTendo

No unfortunatly not first try but I bought some cheap Famicom boards from Japan, so I had some in spare.
What worked best for me, I first sanded the chip down until I saw the die but not the traces yet.
Then I cut the chip approximately to the size I need and did the rest by hand.
Finally I sanded the bottom until the traces are visible. That way the chance of ripping out a trace is lower.

I snipped the narrow part away, so it fits better.

I have two PCB's in spare but the footprint of the MMC1 is wrong. I had to sand the chip down because it didn't fit into the cartridge housing.
You can still solder it onto the board but it's a little bit tricky. Also I'm in Europe so the shipping will cost a bit more.
If you want I can give you the gerber files.

Awesome thanks, I'll pick up some of those contacts for testing too

Would be awesome to get the gerbers, I know I'm not the only one interested in SEROM boards! I'm already used to sanding for the boards so that's no issue, I started sanding down my SRAM chips so they'd fit better in the cartridge shells for TKROM games.

Any clue if you'd be able to use the chips from a famicom game for the mini cartridge?
Also, while I'm here, is it recommended to have a hot air gun for this project, or am I fine with just a soldering iron?

Where did you get your ram and rom chips from as they don't appear to be the ones that were originally from the cartridge?

Yes I harvested the MMC1 from a japanese Dr. Mario cartridge and the MMC3 chip from a japanese Final Fantasy 3 cartridge.
They relatively cheap and easy to get. You still have to sand down the MMC1 because it won't fit in the shell.
As for the RAM and ROM chips: I ordered the parts from the BOM of Mousebitelabs' github https://github.com/MouseBiteLabs/TNY-TKROM
