The face buttons are laser etched and resin cast, not painted, and the joystick caps are from a Gamecube controller.

Here's my video on them.

If you want to do your own joysticks, here's how I did mine. The silicon on the left joystick fits perfectly, but the c stick needs some modification.

Hope you guys like it :D

Yep. I wish I could cast the shells, but I don't have the setup to do that. So paint it is until someone makes some purple joycon shells :D fingers crossed for Nintendo

The etched buttons are especially awesome. Even 3rd party replacement shells don't offer that. Nice job!

There's always these ones
I have the clear green and they work quite well
I saw those, but I don't love translucent cases. I like translucent buttons, I just don't like seeing the screwposts and stuff through the case. So paint it is until someone makes purple ones

For anyone curious, I've found that third party joystick caps work even better on the switch. The left one isn't any different and still fits perfectly, but it's much easier to remove from the cap. The c stick though is completely different and works much better. You can just pull the silicon off the gc cap and cut off the little tabs on the bottom of the silicon. If you sand down the joycon c stick just a little bit so it's flatter, you can put a drop of superglue on and stick the gc c stick silicon on. Both caps combined can be done in five minutes with no disassembly required.

For the record, I like these caps much better than the original joycon caps. The c stick feels less "in the way" and the left joystick is much more comfortable to me. I will be doing this mod to all of my joycons, not just gc style ones. I'll make a how to video sometime on putting these on since it's so simple and just too perfect.

Update on the joystick caps. I made a video a while back on how to put your own caps on your joy cons, but it only worked with certain c-stick caps. After buying a variety of gcc caps from both Chinese and US sellers, I believe that the c sticks I like are no longer common or being used.

So in order to use these more common caps, you can fill them in with epoxy before gluing them on in order to make them not feel squishy.

This is the video I made on this mod. Enjoy :)
