I finished it. The "Leech" strikes again! GC controller shell cut in half, frankencased to 3D printed middle parts. Inside is a split GC controller pcb wired to a GC+. Also inside is a rearranged and rewired Anker PowerCore 20,100 mAh Portable battery pack. Should give you plenty of hours playing Smash Ultimate the way God intended. Portable with GameCube controls.

Thanks guys!

Very cool! How does the GC+ interface with the Switch? I didn't think it could do USB.
It is wired to an 8bitdo Gbros adapter. Which is hardwired to a Hori USB dock, and the battery pack is connected to that. I'll attach a picture when I'm home.

Looks fantastic! Wish I could do body and paint work like that :D
If I'm being honest, I'd've much preferred to have printed the whole thing for easy repeatability. But I just couldn't figure out how to measure and replicate the design of those curvy GameCube controller handles. So I went the Frankenstein route for that perfect GameCube feel!

This is great! I've always wondered why there hasn't been an official product that attaches onto the switch to give it more battery life. I guess it's redundant with the new battery life revision, but it's nice that you gave a fighting chance to even old switches. The finish on it is 10/10, and it would be really cool if it used the rails on the switch - but that's nitpicking. Amazing job!

Your use of the Gbros adapter gives me a good idea for a project I'm looking at taking on. Thanks for sharing!
