Hi all after about 2 years of lurking the fourm on and off and doing absurd amounts of research I think it is finally time to take a crack at building my first ps2 portable however the case is going to be rather large as being my first portable it will give me extra space to work with. so in any case let's get started I have some important questions
So I was browsing around at the bargain bin and found a battery pack for 5$ that holds 7 cells says there 3.6v not sure how much mah dosen't say on the imprint without a way to test my plan is to disolder everything and use only 4 of these batteries to rebuild a battery pack however can the circuit board on this battery pack be used for my portable? It looks like a standard bms it is basically a Dyson vacuum cleaner battery pack may be Chinese or aftermarket but if it is a real Dyson battery pack then those batteries are for sure good but the 3.6v rating hmmm?? Not sure an answer on wether the board or battery are useful would be awesome anyway moving on o ya I'll be removing the prongs on top of that board as they are the power connectors p+ p- anyway
Here is the case that I'm going with it's rather large but I won't be trimming the board just trimming off 1 of the usb ports sanding the board and the left over usb part for possible relocation so as far as the controllers I will be using netplay controllers cut and placed on bolth sides with bondo hair and I will repaint the whole case black and reuse that sweet little playstation logo on the front of the ps2 slim
Gotta love those netplay controllers when you can find them so anyway some help and pointers would be awesome yes I am well aware of the trimming guide and console modding 101 wich are awesome guides and well appreciated but if any of you have recommendations for a screen types of audio amps bms??? More In case I cant already use what is attached to the battery pack also I have taken apart multiple portable dvd drives to see if I could wire up a screen somehow with issues such as not being able to find a proper place to wire it up or it not being possible at all as I want my screen to run on the well known 5v yes I know of car backup monitors (TFT) screens I have several I just want something bigger than 5 inches so anyway there will be more as I will take pictures as I am building it so I can make a proper worklog this thread is only for pointers and the battery pack mainly thank you for any responses recommendations or any replys at all they will be much appreciated
