I know this is pretty low-tech, but, how many portables have been attempted/completed based on the simple concept of combining a GC controller and screen, similar to most drone remote controls?
I'd like to avoid completely rewiring a controller by basically keeping it intact. ( besides, I like the layout, feel and spacing of the stock controller!).
So, the bom would be a stock GC controller, 5 " screen, OMGWTF Wii board and custom regs. No batteries, (usb powered).
A 3d printed housing for the electronics and screen would need to be bridged to the back and bottom of the controller.
There must have been a bunch of these made, but I guess I haven't used the correct search term to locate them here or around the web.
