Solved Do I need the LDO?

Hi, I watched some trimmed wii's and some left the LDO on and some removed it. My question is, can i remove it without any relocation and what are the side effects ?

If you remove it you must supply 1.8v externally. If you are using the RVL-PMS it has a 1.8v regulator.

You can supply it at the black 1.8v bulk cap (follow the trace for the LDO output, the large side)

Do you mean the on the left side where the 2left legs of the LDO?

No, on the cap near the RAM, at the top. Measure 1.8v with a meter before you remove the LDO to make sure you understand the right spot.

i looked at the compendium Wii RVK-01 Compendium that shockslayer have released and found the 1.8v. i measured it at the 9 nine dots right above the ram. is that correct though? i really want it to get it right
