So the type of program you want, is an EDA: Electrical design application.
and they are pretty easy to start, and learn

Uh, for you, and many beginners, I suggest one of these two programs. (pick which you want). Many users on this site, use this program. Like Shank, JacksonS, Me, Gman, and a few couple others.

Guide to get started https://contextualelectronics.com/courses/getting-to-blinky/
Pros: Easy to start, Fully free, open source......... that's about it, Lightweight (useful if computer a potato)
Cons: uses a different format, and layout than other Eda applications
If you start with this program, it'll take extra time to learn other programs(speaking from experience)
there are sometimes graphical glitches sometimes.

For a 'profressional' experience, Eagle sounds like your plate of food.

good guide @jefflongo used, and says is pretty lit https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/using-eagle-schematic
I can't say much on this one cause I haven't used it, but many other's use it and like it, I plan to switch to this software aswell, like JeffLongo, Aurelio, Bocud, and a couple others.
