Like with my last post, all of these builds are from a little while ago, but I never posted them anywhere except quick shots on Discord.
I have built 3 Ashidas so far, and intend on making many more!
MY ASHIDAS
This first one kind of came into my lap without me looking for it. Someone on the forums was building an Ashida, and encountered many issues before they decided they just wanted to sell off the project. After receiving it, I completely tore it apart and started from scratch. The PMS was borked beyond repair (believe me, I tried!), so it needed a new one as well. When I was about 95% done with it, I went to wire up VGA, I wouldn't get any signal... turns out that either the H or V pin on the AVE (I can't remember which) has an extremely low resistance to ground, which is odd since there are no visible shorts and it doesn't go anywhere else on the board. I guess the AVE is bad somehow? I've never seen anything like it. Anyway, I put a new trim in it since I already had one with me at college, and it was all good to go! I used it as my personal portable for a good while before recently selling it, so I need to build another one soon!
This next one was a commission done in sexy black nylon from JLCPCB. After building this Ashida, I bought black nylon shells for a ton of other portables that I will hopefully have up here soon!
This last (and most recent one) was also a commission where all the parts were already sent to me for assembly, I really dig the color scheme!
