Hello! new to the forum obviously, i do indeed look forward to making a portable wii in the future, HOWEVER i came here to actually seek answers on being able to delete my CD drive with out at an issue arising. i havent found any details in the search button on how that is accomplished with these portable builds.

Hey, welcome to the forums! What you're looking for is BBLoader, which is the software used in all the portables you see on the site which allows for the removal of Wi-Fi and loading of games from USB. You can find the thread in the navbar of the forums beside the 'Manuals'.

i have a third wii i can try BBloader on my thing is, i absolutely love usb loader gx, but whos to say i wont love BBloader more? lol ill give it a shot right now see how i like it and unplug the CD drive after installation to check it out.

Hey all, first post here but I've been a casual modder for a long time. I used to paint PS2 and Xbox 360 controllers way back when I was a teenager (they looked awful). Now as an aspiring hardware hacker I've been diving deep into the awesome work you guys do.

Currently I have a phat PS2 which I am planning on upgrading and leaving as a full console. I was given a Wii U which I've softmodded and loaded my gamecube games onto. Two gamecubes, one DOL-001 which I am holding on to just in case I decide to go the HDMI route, one DOL-101 which I will either convert into a portable or punt on eBay. Because of the awesome work here, I bought a broken disc Wii in order to convert into a portable at some point in the future.

Anyway, love the work here. It's inspiring to me as a fledgeling hardware hacker, and brings some serious nostalgia to me as I grew up with all of these systems. (Inherited a Genesis as a kid, PS1 was my first new system. My siblings and I played every system except PS3 until current gen.) And it's been a blast sharing these games with my kids in a non-destructive way.

Hey everyone,

I found out about the portable modding scene a few years ago through Shank. Never thought I would be doing this one day myself, but I'm now eagerly awaiting the arrival of my very own G-Boy kit!

I'm fairly new to electronics, however, I have been doing some research and solder practice over holiday break in preparation. I haven't been this excited about learning a new skill in a while, so I hope this becomes a passion I choose to pursue further.

I(32) from germany found this great forum looking up ways to give my old Wii a new life. After lurking some days i ended up with a full workbench and an great project to lern new stuff the fun way.

Some mistakes are already made but corrected, thanks to the incredible guids and forum posts here on bitbuilt.

I'm new here to the forum. I have some experience with electronics and manufacturing / hacking stuff together, though the only console mod I have done so far was the rgb mod for n64.
Planning on making a portable wii inside a gameboy advance shell (or 2 glued together to become longer to fit the screen XP )
