Ok, so bad news, I hooked up the pms lite to the trimmed wii and it started smoking. Don’t know which bit, but I’m worried. Also, should the power button be doing anything to the led on the pms without a wii connected?
Upload pictures of your setup/wiringOk, so bad news, I hooked up the pms lite to the trimmed wii and it started smoking. Don’t know which bit, but I’m worried. Also, should the power button be doing anything to the led on the pms without a wii connected?
34AWG magnet wire for small data lines, 22AWG stranded for power and groundwhat different size of wires do i need for the louii build by ginger of oz
Use thicker wire 22 awg stranded. Upload better picture of the pmsThe wiring is very thin because it’s just for testing. I click quickly and hold the power button without the Wii connected and it does nothing to the led. Is that a problem?
Wait if I installed the rvl nrc while batteries were in could it fry the wii because I know installing a thermister while batteries are in can damage itDude you need to clean up your wiring big time. Also the source of your short might be the RVL-NTC, the one blob is quite suspicious.

Lastly, magnet wire is not thick enough to supply power to the Wii. It's never going to turn on even for a moment. You need 22AWG stranded wire for that.
Soldering anything while batteries are connected is asking for trouble, but hopefully that's not the case. It's impossible to really know for sureWait if I installed the rvl nrc while batteries were in could it fry the wii because I know installing a thermister while batteries are in can damage it
You kind of said it yourself, you should make your own thread, this is not the right place to ask about your own project. Good luck!Hello everyone!
