Inconsistent boots are more often than not U10 related... Are you using the real U10 chip or the PMS emulation? I used the PMS emulation for some time and it was pretty normal for me to have to boot the console 2 or 3 times until it finally booted... Turns out the wire lenght seems to be quite important for U10 boot consistency... I switched to use the real U10 chip with a "wireless" installation and now my console boots 100% of the time, guaranteed. If you're using the U10 installed next to the CPU my advice is to use the shortest wire you can get away with. There's a via next to the chip location that allows you to pass a 34awg wire through. Try that.

Im so sorry for taking so long to get back to this, I've been busy these last 2 months with school nearing its end, but I tried this and it worked! The controllers had some problems but it turned out I just pinched a wire and it broke so that was an easy fix. Now it's all working. Now on to software! The power settings aren't showing up. Idk if the pms lite just doesn't have them or what but I was trying to update the firmware and couldn't.

Check SDW and SCW. If they're not connected (or maybe the connection broke loose) then the menu would go away.

So that worked and the setting shows up but now none of the controls are working. I desoldered it and the controls came back so its gotta be that
