Just putting something out there I just noticed recently. I placed an order for some High Endurance PLA+ 2.0 filament from Sunlu yesterday and I come back today to find all the prices for the Budget Best Sellers on Amazon for PLA and PLA+ products Marked Up anywhere from 12.5% to a whopping 50% including from the same brand of filament I was buying just the day before it was a (13% increase on the filament I ordered). Looking at a couple online news outlets Amazon is allegedly using AI technology to review product history and long term purchase history and inflate sales prices within a seller's authorized price range for users based on their history. Not sure if this true, or if the following will be helpful to anyone, but hopping on my computer (I place my orders on my phone via the Amazon App) and using a VPN, before going to Amazon as a guest. After reviewing prices this might be partly true for at least some of the products I was viewing. I believe this to be the case because aside from me manually reviewing prices, online website price checkers (like honey, capital one shopping, and camelcamel) were reporting different prices other users, while some products did seem to just have a natural rise in their cost. However, it could just be a price spike in PLA filaments, and everyone following is the trend and slowly raising their prices too. (It could very well be they lowered the prices for online school shoppers for US Parents, so they can buy their kid's back-to-school supplies and products in their wishlists as well). At least from what I have seen from Amazon in the past couple of months the prices for regular PLA from Sunlu, Anycubic, Flashforge, Elegoo, Kingroon, CC3D, and 3DHojor have been anywhere from $7.99 to $14.99. While as of the past 48 hours they are about $9.99 to $17.99 (nothing too major here, but it is up). The PLA+ from these brands are usually around $11.99 to $17.99, but as of today are ranging from $15.99 to $23.99 for these best selling budget brands. Has anyone else seen this recent jump in PLA prices from other retailers or is this just Amazon? Also is there a recent shortage on ABS or PLA? Because that is quite the price spike for cheap PLA+.
