Yeah the Eyoyo screen will need a separate 5v regulator to power it. The small linear reg on the PS2 can't power the PS2 and that screen at the same time. Fortunately the Eyoyo screen doesn't actually need any modding to run on 5v, it has a 5v pad easily accessible from the start. You will have to put some effort into removing all the ports and screwposts tho.

I made a shitty thread for the Eyoyo screen a while ago, it has the 5v location and yPbPr pinout
the screen that i received looks different and before i do anything to it i wanna make sure i do it right, can you help me here

It's hard to see the traces with the lighting, but I'm pretty sure you can just supply 5v to this schotty diode

Ground can be soldered to any of the anchor points around the board

Have you set the video output to yPbPr in the BIOS?

Hmm. The blue wire on the PS2 side looks like it might be shorting on the Chroma pad next to it. I should also confirm you've set the screen's input mode to yPbPr/Component and not VGA?

No, luma and chroma are for S-Video. It's possible that this version of the board has a different yPbPr config, but it can only be these 3 pads.

You got video, so Y is in the right spot, maybe try switching R and B around?

The capacitor is wired backwards, the white stripe is meant to be on the ground side. Aside from that, looks good. I'd put another capacitor on the output line as well if you have any spares, just to prevent potential voltage ripple from damaging anything. I know the custom regs thread diagram doesn't show using an output filter cap, but it's a good idea to do it as a preventative measure against voltage ripple. Ginger has quite a tale to tell about not using output filter caps.

Yes, just make sure you use a 8.4v li-ion smart charger with it. A regular DC supply will damage the cells if you try to charge them with it.
