Hi there guys!

These days I tried to buy the L7009 7" screen to use it for my portable wii project. It seems it is out of production right now or at least all the websites I've visited are out of stock.

The only seller I tried to buy it from refunded me, so I looked out for another model that has YPbPr 480p but I'm not convinced.

Can I ask you guys to tell me about some other models you tested?

Thanks for raising my awareness about it, I might be in the same case, but without the refund.
It is "completed" in my orders in the website. Have you had to do something to get the money back?

Another thing, I don't know if you already designed your case, but 7" is quite big (I already made a portable with the L7009), the switch screen is 6.2" and it might be enough if you cannot find a good 7".

No, in my case after I made the order they never sent me the item and in a few days they just sent me an e-mail to inform me about the refund.

To be honest, I want to make the case plans after I get all the parts. I've made some cases before, though this is the first Wii portable I will design.

Obviously I pointed 7" because I don't mind it to be a bit chunky since I prefer to have a bigger screen. Anyway I think 6.2" won't be bad if I can't find a 7" replacement.

Do you know a good 6.2" 480p and 5V screen I could use? (Obviously if they are not 5V I just need them to be modifiable)

I do not know.
You can try the ones in the bom.

The 7" look old too, but better than the others that I found, however, the port is expensive.

This one might be nice, but I couldn't find any info about viewing angles.

This one is the cheapest of the AT070TN90, but the viewing angles are quite bad I guess. It is cheap though.

this one is different too, but I don't know if it is good.

You could do the VGA mod. It doesn't look to hard to do, with the right wire. And expand the compatibility.

Yes, maybe it would be a better option, or at least I would lose less time.

I will put a Wii2hdmi, without his case and using the hotplug detect, in my portable because I want to connect it to the television. I have to know if it could interfere with the hack. (I think it should not be possible but I don't like to take something for granted)

If I remember correctly what I read, but you can find it on the website, you would need to put a switch(or a mosfet with hotplug) on the mode pin, to get the composite working again, in order to use the Wii2hdmi. You might also need to disconnect the other video pin, but I cannot be sure.

A couple of transistor and some resistors should work fine to switch the video output beetween the monitor and the wii2hdmi.

When the hdmi is disconnected the video signal goes to the monitor and when you plug the hdmi, through the hotplug pin, the two transistor switch the signal to the adapter. If I'm not wrong, cheese once suggested this to a user.

Emetsys thank you so much for your time and patience. I think the first one would be a nice choice since it surely works with 5v, but for curiosity I will look out if I can convert to 5v the second screen anyway.

I just wanted to add this one, because it is the screen that is availlable in built monitor for something like 150$, but there are no review on the product so it could be a gambit.
However, it has really nice viewing angle for the price.

This one would be perfection if the one they ship to you is really this. The problem is that it could be a different revision or just fake. (Ye I have had a regretful amount of scams buying from China stores)

Anyway I could buy only the screen and maybe find a 5v compatible board similar to this one. If that works it would be a champ.
