Question 3DS Repair, any common problems?

Hey guys, just wanting to comb the net for some knowledge!
I just bought a non-working original 3DS (don't ask me why I'm not working on the slimboii) and from checking around on ebay it seems like the problem is somewhat common: When pressing power, the blue light comes on, and after a second both screens flash white for a millisecond, and then everything turns off.

I'll do some further diagnoses myself, but I just wondered if there is a known problem with a component in these that I'm not aware of?

This usually means that one of the screens is not properly working, often a sign of an improperly-seated ribbon cable. Try cleaning up and reseating the two display cables and see what happens.

Nope doesn't look like it, cleaned and reseated everything and same issue.
