  • PSP go analogs (if I can get them to work) if not joycon analogs
  • Custom pcb carrier board to hold all 4Layertech boards
  • Omega trim
  • Custom fan possibly
  • 3.5” hdmi display with glass cover (might look into the laminated lcd)
  • Batteries i have no clue since I’ll have very limited space
  • I was thinking of using the original display ribbon cable

Yes! This is hot. Been wanting to make a portable with slide mechanism, excited to see how you implement everything.

This place sells just the hinge alone so you don't have to buy a whole housing kit. Only a few left apparently.

Thanks drew, I originally planned to make a ps2 portable instead of the Wii but since I trimmed my first omega I knew then I wanted the Wii portable.

thanks for link, I do have a couple spare ones from previous psp go’s I’ve taken apart. Btw the design is pretty much the same size as psp go the only difference will be the thickness.

I haven't messed with psps too much how similar is the gos analog to the switch or 3ds? They look like they click?

SMALL UPDATE

I’m almost done with design I just have alot of test prints to do, the design is not a 100% copy of the original psp go but I am keeping a lot of its features.

Another thing is if I can’t create the carrier board this design will be pointless.

might add these features

MX chip on carrier board
Bluetooth module
Fujiflex by @YveltalGriffin
Power strip by @loopj

My plan is to release all files/pcbs once finished.

Wow I can’t believe this much time has passed and no updates, I completely slacked these passed months and now I have changed a lot of the features on this portable.

the biggest one is that there will be no carrier board which means I will have to use the psp go motherboard for the buttons and hand solder everything so expect a lot of wires .

another thing is that I went with a OMGWTF trim since I will be releasing files and the omega is a hard trim I wanted people to be able to build this plus I had the space for it.

Here’s the top half I will be placing the battery right above the lcd I hope there’s no issues by doing that I guess I’ll find out soon.

I have 17 days to design build and make a video before deadline, I will upload some photos although it ain’t much yet but there’s a portable in there somewhere.

also I had a lot of issues with the psp go analog they weren’t working correctly, I 3d printed the internal pieces so it can move farther out but I gave up on them. so im going to use 3ds sliders hopefully they work.

So hopefully the next time i post here I will have a fully functional Wii portable.

Oh I almost forgot since I went with a omgwtf trim should I change the name of portable to WII GOmg lol ?

So apparently fusion decided to stop working as I was exporting my final case files, I decided to update fusion and it no longer wants to load its sad to say but with 3 days left I’m out the race.

good luck to everyone who’s still in it, once I get this going i will finish the build and release all files.

While the flat lady may be getting warmed up she's not on stage and singing yet! Have a sleep, have a think, see if you can fight through the Autodesk BS! I believe in you!

Fusion won't start at all, or it won't load the project? If it's just the project not loading, you can click the version number on the right, navigate down to a previous version of the project, and click the folder icon on the right hand side of that version.

It'll recover the previous version from your archive and hopefully it will load
