I have been testing with two additional modules - RF-BM-BG22A3 from RF Star and the EByte E104-BT53A3.
The RF-BM-Bg22A3 works perfectly out of the box with the existing firmware. It also anecdotally has better wireless performance/range but I haven’t formally tested that yet.
The EByte E104-BT53A3 also works with the current firmware but will need some additional tuning to work as good as the other modules.
I plan on releasing some new carrier PCBs to make using these modules easy, but if you wanted to hand assemble WavePhoenixes using these modules today, they will work.
The EByte modules are currently inexpensive to buy in small quantities. RF Star got greedy and cranked up their prices.
Good luck!
