Get a good kit and it's not that bad.

That should be a good thing! We have many options to choose from and can use whatever floats our boat.

Well there are always ways to get things for free. But getting ti for free and being a good citizen, if you're a college student your university might provide it (mine does :D)

Used SketchUp. Never was a fan.

Blender, while it has a rough learning curve, is one of the most powerful FREE 3d program that I have used.

Does anyone have dimensions of the various buttons? Looking to try to model some cases.

If you want I'll take those GC off your hands :D Anyway awesome build. I might want to learn how to make a cut like that for myself when I make a Wii portable some day.

Folgertech FT-5 is $500 for the kit and has a 12" by 12" by 15.6" build area. Plenty for portable cases.
