Secret Santa 2024: Post/Discuss your gifts here!

My secret santa hooked me up with some awesome HAL effect switch joysticks! I've been wanting to start using these in my builds more but they're just so expensive, so I really appreciate it and will put them to good use!

Secret Santa 2024: Post/Discuss your gifts here!

@RegDogg The best thing about that controller too is that not only is it already a fairly uncommon color, but it has an even more rare blue mario controller back half, so it's a franky controller :) I wasn't sure when we should reveal ourselves so I left that out, but I was your secret santa...

Question DS, green light, flicker orange, and turn off

Does it make a pop noise when it happens? Usually that means it's a screen issue. The one that is working will flash briefly.

Depending on which version you want, you'd want to install that one on to your pico. If you're looking to use a regular controller then you'd want the standard uf2. Make sure you follow the wiring diagram as well as the notes to wire it up.

Sure! Any 50 position .5 pitch ffc connector should work. The one I used here is https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/amphenol-cs-fci/62684-501100ALF/1001511

Another big progress update with a lot of lessons learned and new goals! First off, I want to give everyone over in Discord a huge shoutout for all the inputs they provided, from case design to PCB design. Now onto the updates. My initial VA0 Dreamcast trim didn't work out. I may revisit it at...

Question Planning N64HHv2 build - advice required

I definitely recommend @CrazyGadget 's worklog to help with assembly! @PiR8_BTY also has a really good one so between those two work logs you should have all th info needed for assembly. Just a quick note about the PMS: the modified N64 PMS works great but requires a lot of assembly including a...

Worklog Mylar (working title) - An Ashida inspired, knock-off Tanto, Dreamcast Portable

It has been a minute since my last update on this project, and now I have a small one. Some progress is better than no progress I suppose :) . With a lot of help from @YveltalGriffin, the FFC connector for the GDEmu I was originally planning to use finally works! It turns out that I had...

Question Maple Pad & Github (Pi Pico)

It's odd that it fried your system though, it shouldn't have... Are you sure the fuse on the controller board didn't just blow? When I originally wired it I did the same thing because I wasn't thinking of the right connector orientation when checking the wires.

    Solved Immediate Ashida issues

You can wire mode via 8 to either number 10 (the 3V3 side of the cap), or TP47 to 3V3 anywhere (TP47 is the test pad for via 8 Mode). It's signaling the Wii to force component and VGA mode, but you have to make sure your Wii is also setup to enable VGA when installing RVLoader.

    Solved Immediate Ashida issues

Can you post a closer shot of of the wiring on your board? Also, can you feel the chip getting hot when you power it on? One thing I didn't see you mention was connecting Mode to 3V3 which enables VGA output on the Wii.

Solved G-Wii video settings off, need help to fix

You'll need to access the screen controls and mess with the OSD settings for it. Depending on which driver board you have there is an "Auto" setting that will attempt to fit the image to the screen.

Well, I dun goofed with my main control board layout and accidentally swapped the left and right controls, resulting in this mess: On a more positive note, the board along with the new FFC connectors work great! If I want to use the main control board as-is, at least for a prototype, I'll...
