I've definitely seen/had a switch that was integrated like that in the past,but have since lost the link. I think it was a 3 or 5 position spring/momentary switch. The last place I saw it referenced was on the sudomod forums if that helps.

That's the one. Very true, just about everything can be done better now, though some of the pinout info may be useful. I'm from back in the day when the Ben Heck forums were new and when modretro was started so I have a small soft spot for the old ways, but the new stuff now is pretty amazing.
