Hello folks,

I recently came across a Nintendo Ique CIB.
And was wondering if anyone here knows a bit about the console, and if its possible to load games on it outside of china.
As far as i could find on google, the hacking scene of this console is slow at best.

The original way to get games on it was trough terminals at gas stations in China.
you would pay for it with a pre-paid card, and connect the Ique to the terminal to download the games on it.
But since even the internet service was discontinued in dec 2016, i doubt there is a legit way from outside of china to get any other games loaded on it.

Does anyone have any suggestions ?
Or will it stay a collectible gimic for my shelfs.

This is the package i have CIB.

Thanks in advance,

Part of the reason for it's slow hacking scene is the obscurity of the thing itself. Not many people have even heard of the iQue, let alone seen or hacked it. Also, given it's rarity (or so it seems, I was only able to find one fairly high priced NIB one on ebay), not many people would want to try hacking it due to it's high price.

Certainly no legit way, or easy way. That's for sure.

I did a bit of Google-fu and found some potentially helpful info. These two sites have some info on flashing the memory cards that come with the iQue, but the sites are pretty ancient:
http://web.archive.org/web/20060130223754/http://www.crazynation.org/N64/IQUE/ique.htm
http://www.reinerziegler.de/ique/ique.htm

This guy seems to want to hack the iQue, but the thread's kind of old. To pick up where he left off, looks like you'd need to contact the dude and/or do some rough IT work.

Apparently, the games are encrypted and need server validation to be flashed to the memory card. No one knows how or why. It may be possible to hack if someone with the right skills and tools wanted to put in the time and effort.

I also found those links with some googleing, but as you said most of them are ancient or on a dead end.
Now to be honest i am more into the physical/electronics aspect of consoles, so im not to right guy to try and figure this out.
I have not the slightest clue on where i would start hehe.

Neither did i know anything about electronics until i started on portables tho so who knows lol.

I am hoping to find someone here who knows more or push me into the right direction.
If not i will have to start somewhere, and i will probly start with contacting the guy on that forum.

To me its a really interessting console, and i hope to crack it someday :)
Till then its a nice addition to my collection.

@Aurelio may be able to help you. He's a whiz at embedded hardware. I would imagine you would have to pull the crypto keys off the hardware and possibly spoof a server to validate the games (similar to people spoofing a network to trade Pokemon for the GB). There are possibly other work arounds of course.

I'd love to get my hands on that console and tinker with it. Good luck man!

The games are encrypted, uses a cert system similar to the nintendo eshop. I was trying to build hardware to get ramdumps but never achieved it. I had a page on it somewhere.

If you could try and find that page im sure that would help !
Its a shame i didn't come across this unit 3 months ago.. as the online service was terminated on 31-dec-2016 to legally download games.
But even that required a firmware update first, which you would need to do at a iQue Depot in china.

The only way i know some people (outside China) have games, was some guy selling them and loading games on them before shipping them off. this was in 2012 i believe.
