To start this thread I will post what I have done so far.

I'll get all the low downs for this screen posted eventually but I'm posting it now so that people looking for screens can be aware of it. It's a perfect in-between screen for 3.5" LCDs and 5" LCDs that isn't easily found. It comes in a VGA flavor too. much better than the 16:9 4.3" screens too

I think it's also important to note that you can't just wire up tact switches to that 7" display. It's got some resistor train going to get inputs from the controller board.
