Got my Gboy kit in recently and progress has been slow and steady. USB c reading works, the fan spins, and the board posts. A few issues have shown up though. For starters, BBloader will not go past the first bit of text when an sd card is inserted. Without one, it shows the expected error message. Also it doesn’t seem like my controller wiring went well, since I can’t use the a button to go into the priiloader at this screen. Looks like I’ll have to put it on hold until I can get past these roadblocks

I successfully tackled my SD issue, It now boots into BB loader. the problem now is the controls. Ive tried rewiring the data line for the controller several times now and I still cant get any button presses to register

yeah I have several gamecube and wii titles available when I boot the console. I simply cant navigate or select any game. the sticks wont scroll through anything and the buttons wont select anything. From what I can tell it just is not recognizing any controls

Ok use your multimeter and measure 3.3v and ground directly on the GC+ board to verify that there is power on it, not just by looking at the wires.

The vias have solder mask on them, you need to scratch it carefully with xacto blade tip to reveal the copper to ensure a good solder connection.

I checked the voltage with power on and it was well within range, also i checked continuity with the control board by touching the leg of that RA1 ic, and it checked out. Ill try re flowing for fun though

Newest issue: I began wiring the VGA, and after doing all the wiring to the Wii board, all colors are showing continuity with ground. The sync lines do not. I thought maybe twisting the magnet wire together was shorting them but v and h sync are twisted and not shorting. Why would this be I wonder

Why make a new thread for the issue if you're posting it here too? Check out what I said in your other thread. Hope that helps some!

My bad, I figured it applied to both so anyone with the same issue in the future searching the forums would have a better chance of finding it. I’ll avoid that, thanks.

Ive successfully wired Audio and VGA video. Unfortunately my samsung sd drive wont let the wii board screw down, but I have a micro SD for the adapter on the way. also worth noting that a battery caught fire when I tried forcing it too recklessly against the clip, which pierced the battery cover. so I also need to wait for another battery set and clip to arrive. I suppose I can do the optional steps in the meantime. Thanks for helping get me through this build guys.
